11 Local Charities Surprised with Checks

POCATELLO, Idaho –

Eleven Idaho charities got some much-needed and unexpected financial support Tuesday night.

The groups received donations ranging from $500 to $2,000 as part of the Idaho Hometown Hero Annual Evening of Giving.

The event is hosted each year by the JRM Foundation, a group founded by Dr. Fahim Rahim.

“We got an email from Dr. Rahim a few days ago and it was a pleasant surprise,” said Adrean Cavener, executive director of the Idaho Meth Project which was presented with a $2,000 check.

This year’s recipients include:

  • Bright Tomorrows Child Advocacy Center; $2000
  • Family Services Alliance; $1500
  • Pocatello Free Clinic; $1000
  • Idaho Food Bank (Backpack Program); $2000
  • Idaho Meth Project; $2000
  • All Under One Roof; $1000
  • Habitat for Humanity in Idaho Falls; $1000
  • Domestic Violence Intervention Center (Women’s Shelter).Idaho Falls; $1000
  • Pocatello POW*MIA Awareness Association; $1000
  • Pocatello Animal Shelter; $500
  • Bannock Humane Society; $500
